Random Video Chat, No Sign-Up and No Login

Updated · 5 min read

Omlet is a random video chat with no sign-up: there's no account, no login and no profile. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number. You confirm you're 18 or older, press Start, and you're talking to someone new.

Skipping registration is convenient, but it isn't the same as being invisible. This page explains exactly what you share, what you don't, and how reports and bans still work without accounts.

What you won't be asked for

Many chat services start with a form. Omlet doesn't have one. Here's the difference at a glance:

Typical sign-up stepOn Omlet
Name or usernameNot asked
Email addressNot asked
Phone number or SMS codeNot asked
PasswordNone to create or forget
Profile photo or bioNo profiles exist
Confirm you're 18 or olderYes, required before chatting
Pick an avatarYou choose an egg avatar under "I am"; it's shown to the people you chat with

Skipping the form isn't just faster. It means there's no stored profile tied to your email, no welcome emails or texts, and nothing to remember or recover the next time you visit. You arrive, chat, and leave.

Because there's no login, there's also no password that could leak in a data breach or be reused against your other accounts.

Talk to strangers without registration in four steps

  1. Open Omlet in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox.
  2. Confirm that you're 18 or older.
  3. Allow camera and microphone access when your browser asks, or skip the camera and chat by text.
  4. Press Start (or the right arrow key). Press Next to meet someone else and Stop (Esc) to end.

Nothing is installed either: Omlet runs in the browser tab. If you want to know more about that side of things, see video chat with no download.

Why there's an 18+ check but no ID check

Omlet is for adults only, so you confirm your age before your first chat. That confirmation is self-declared: Omlet doesn't ask for ID or a selfie, and it doesn't claim to check anyone's age.

That makes the community's part important. Anyone who seems under 18 can be reported with the "Looks under 18" reason, and chats with someone who says they're under 18 are ended. Sexual content involving anyone under 18 means a permanent ban.

For the wider reasons sites ask this question, read why chat sites ask if you're 18.

No account, but not invisible

Not signing up means Omlet never learns your name or contact details. It doesn't mean nothing about you is shared. Here's what the person you're talking to can see and what Omlet handles behind the scenes.

  • Your partner sees and hears you when your camera and mic are on, reads your messages, and sees your egg avatar and the country flag detected for your connection.
  • Your IP address can be visible to your partner. Calls are peer-to-peer and encrypted between the two of you, and that direct connection can share your IP address with them. It usually points to a region and provider, not your home.
  • Omlet processes technical data such as your IP address and approximate country to run the service. It doesn't record or store calls, and messages are only stored when they're part of a report or safety review.
  • Most data is deleted within 30 days; reports are kept for up to 180 days.

Keep your side account-free too

No sign-up only protects you if you don't hand the details over yourself. A few habits keep it that way:

  • Use a first name or a nickname, never your full name.
  • Keep social media handles, phone numbers and email addresses out of the chat, even when asked nicely.
  • Check that mail, ID cards and work badges aren't visible behind you.

How reports and bans work without logins

On sites with accounts, bans attach to a username. Omlet has no usernames, so safety is tied to the device instead.

  • Reports follow the device. Someone you report is never matched with you again on that device.
  • Bans are per device. A rule-breaker can't get back in just by refreshing the page.
  • Skips are short. Someone you skip isn't matched with you again for 30 seconds.

The same logic applies to the optional country filter. With no account to attach it to, the $3 one-time unlock belongs to the device and browser you bought it in. Your first day with it is free. The free day starts with a card, and the $3 is charged once when it ends unless you cancel in Settings.

The trade-offs of skipping the account

Going account-free is a deliberate choice, and it has a few side effects worth knowing:

  • No friends list or follows. When a chat ends, there's no built-in way to find that person again.
  • No chat history. Once you press Next, the conversation is gone from your screen.
  • Purchases stay put. The country filter doesn't carry over to other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Nothing to delete later. There's no profile sitting on a server with your photos and bio.

Frequently asked questions

Can people see my IP address if I don't sign up?

Possibly. Signing up or not doesn't change how the call connects. Omlet calls are peer-to-peer, and that connection can share your IP address with the person you're talking to. A VPN hides it from them.

If I get banned, can I just make a new account?

There are no accounts to make. Bans on Omlet apply per device, so refreshing the page or reopening the site doesn't lift one. If you think a ban was a mistake, you can contact omletofficial0@gmail.com.

Do I need to log in to use the country filter?

No. The first day is free and the $3 one-time unlock is paid through Stripe without creating an Omlet account. It's tied to the device and browser you use, so it won't appear on another device or after clearing that browser's data.

Does Omlet know who I am?

Omlet never asks for your name, email or phone number. It does process technical details such as your IP address and approximate country to connect calls, and it keeps reports for up to 180 days. It doesn't sell data.
