An OmeTV Alternative That Skips the Account and the App
A good OmeTV alternative lets you meet random people on video without creating an account or installing an app. Omlet works that way: open it in your browser, confirm you're 18+, press Start, and you're face to face with a stranger.
If you searched for an Omegle TV alternative, you're in the right place too. Below you'll find what OmeTV is, why people look elsewhere, the questions worth asking any site like OmeTV, and Omlet's facts set next to what to check on OmeTV.
What OmeTV is, and why people call it Omegle TV
OmeTV is a random video chat service that, at the time of writing, has been available on the web and through mobile apps. Because the name sounds like Omegle, lots of people search for "Omegle TV" when they mean OmeTV, but it's a separate service from the original Omegle, which closed on 8 November 2023.
Its sign-in options, filters and rules are set by its owners and can change, so check their current terms for how it works today. Omlet has no connection to OmeTV, and the name belongs to its owner.
Why people look for sites like OmeTV
Everyone has their own reasons, but a few come up again and again:
- They'd rather not log in. Some people don't want a casual chat linked to an email address or a social media account.
- They don't want another app. Storage is full, or they'd rather not keep a stranger-chat app on their home screen.
- They want to know what filters cost before they start. A recurring charge for something used once a week adds up.
- They want different safety tools, such as protection that hides unwanted video before it's shown.
- They want a change of scene. A new site means new people and a different pace.
Whatever your reason, the questions below will tell you more than any top-ten list.
Questions to ask before you switch
- Can I chat without an account? If not, what does signing in share?
- Does the website work fully on my phone, or am I pushed toward an app?
- Which filters exist, are they free, and is the price a subscription or a one-time payment?
- What happens if a stranger shows something I didn't want to see?
- Can I report someone without leaving the chat, and will I be matched with them again?
- Are calls recorded, and can the other person see my IP address?
Ask Omlet the same questions. Our answers are in the table below; for OmeTV's, read their current terms and privacy policy.
Omlet vs what to check on OmeTV
| What matters | Omlet | What to check on OmeTV |
|---|---|---|
| Account | None. Omlet doesn't ask for your name, email or phone number; you confirm you're 18+ | Whether sign-in is required and which login methods it uses |
| App | Runs in the browser; optional install as a web app, with no store download | Whether you need the mobile app for every feature |
| Filters | Country filter only: first day free, then $3 one time per device and browser | Which filters exist and whether they're one-off or recurring |
| Unwanted video | Each new partner stays blurred until an on-device check passes (up to about 4 seconds) | Their current moderation approach |
| Reporting | Five report reasons and Report and skip; someone you report is never matched with you again on that device | How reports work and what happens after |
| Privacy | Calls aren't recorded or stored; peer-to-peer can share your IP with your partner; no ads | Their privacy policy on recording, data retention and ads |
| Price of chatting | Free | Their current terms |

How Omlet's country filter works and what it costs
Filters are where random chat sites differ most, so here's exactly how Omlet's works. Matching is Worldwide by default, and that's free. To meet people from one place, open the country filter and choose from 200+ countries.
- Your first day with the filter is free, with one free day per device and home network. The free day starts with a card, and the $3 is charged once when it ends unless you cancel in Settings.
- After that it's $3 one time, with no subscription. Payment goes through Stripe, and Omlet never sees your card.
- The unlock belongs to that device and browser. It doesn't carry over to another phone or browser, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- It works both ways: two people are only paired when the match fits both of their settings.
- When fewer people from your chosen country are online, matching can take longer. You can switch back to Worldwide whenever you like.
Step-by-step instructions and examples are on our video chat by country page.
Your first Omlet chat, start to finish
- Open Omlet in Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, on your phone or computer.
- Confirm you're 18 or older and choose an egg avatar under "I am".
- Allow camera and microphone access, or skip the camera and chat by text.
- Press Start. Use Next to meet someone else and Stop to end.
- Optional: install Omlet from your browser menu so it opens from an icon, like an app.
Used to a phone app? On iPhone, open Omlet in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome and choose Install app from the menu.
Habits that keep you safe on any site
- Be cautious when a stranger quickly asks to move the chat to another app; it's a common first step in scams.
- Don't open links from people you've just met. Omlet's in-chat tips flag links, scams and threats, but your judgment comes first.
- Remember that anyone can screenshot or record their own screen, on any site.
- Report anyone who seems under 18, and press Next whenever a chat feels wrong.
- Use a VPN if you'd rather keep your IP address private from chat partners.
