Video Chat with People from Bolivia
Bolivia stretches from snowy Andean peaks to Amazon lowlands, and the people you meet reflect that range. La Paz and El Alto sit high in the mountains, linked by cable cars; Santa Cruz de la Sierra is warm and tropical; Cochabamba is known for its food; and Sucre and Potosí have historic colonial centers. Spanish is the shared language, and many people also speak Quechua, Aymara or Guaraní, which are official alongside many other Indigenous languages.
Bolivia Time is UTC-4 all year: an hour ahead of New York in winter and the same in summer. Evenings there fall in the middle of the night in Europe and the next morning in East Asia, so it's an easy match for people across the Americas. Talk about the Salar de Uyuni salt flat, Lake Titicaca, Oruro's carnival, football in La Paz's thin air, or salteñas, the juicy pastries often eaten mid-morning. English is less common, so a few Spanish phrases help.

Tips for chatting with people from Bolivia
- Ask where in Bolivia they live; life high up in La Paz is very different from tropical Santa Cruz, and the food changes with it.
- A word of Quechua or Aymara shows real interest. Ask how to answer "Kamisaraki?" ("Waliki" means I'm fine).
- Ask about riding Mi Teleférico, the cable-car network linking La Paz and El Alto; it's a point of local pride.
- Bolivian Spanish borrows words from Quechua and Aymara, like "wawa" for baby, so ask about any local word you don't recognize.
Only meet people from Bolivia
Omlet matches you Worldwide by default. To meet only people from Bolivia, use the country filter, the only filter Omlet has:
- Open Omlet and press Country on the control panel.
- Search for Bolivia and select it.
- Press Start. Press Next to meet someone else from Bolivia, or switch back to Worldwide any time.
Your first day is free: you add a card through Stripe to start it, and nothing is charged that day. When the 24 hours end, the country filter costs $3 one time, charged to that card, unless you cancel before then in Settings (if you cancel, you can still pick a country until the day ends). It's not a subscription, and it stays unlocked on that device and browser. It doesn't carry over to other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser data removes it. There's one free day per device, home network and card. Payment goes through Stripe, so Omlet never sees your card number.
The filter works both ways, and matching can be slower when fewer people from Bolivia are online. Chatting itself is free, and Worldwide matching never costs anything.
Your own country is detected automatically and shown to the people you meet as a flag.
