Video Chat with People from Albania
Albania squeezes a lot into a small space: Tirana's colorful buildings and busy café streets, the port city of Durrës, the stone hill towns of Berat and Gjirokastër, Shkodër beside its big lake, and a southern coast running past Vlorë and Sarandë toward Ksamil. In the north, the Albanian Alps around Theth and Valbona draw hikers every summer. Albanian is heard across the country, though northerners speak Gheg dialects and southerners Tosk.
Many Albanians understand Italian, partly thanks to Italian television, Greek is heard in the south, and English is a safe bet with younger adults. Tirana shares its clock with Rome, which puts Albanian evenings in the middle of the afternoon on the US East Coast. Food talk is easy: byrek, tavë kosi (baked lamb with yogurt), fërgesë, fresh seafood on the coast, and a long, unhurried coffee afterward. Football and summer trips to the Riviera come up often too. Pick Albania in the country filter if you want only Albanian matches, and see our North Macedonia page for the neighbors to the east.

Tips for chatting with people from Albania
- Watch the head gestures: traditionally, a side-to-side shake can mean yes and a nod can mean no, though many younger people use the international versions. If you're unsure, ask out loud.
- Northern Gheg and southern Tosk speech sound noticeably different, so ask which one you're hearing; people enjoy explaining the quirks.
- Summer is when many Albanians living abroad come home and the coast fills up, so ask for a favorite beach that visitors haven't found yet.
- "Faleminderit" (fah-leh-meen-deh-REET) means thank you. It's a mouthful, but people appreciate the effort.
Only meet people from Albania
Omlet matches you Worldwide by default. To meet only people from Albania, use the country filter, the only filter Omlet has:
- Open Omlet and press Country on the control panel.
- Search for Albania and select it.
- Press Start. Press Next to meet someone else from Albania, or switch back to Worldwide any time.
Your first day is free: you add a card through Stripe to start it, and nothing is charged that day. When the 24 hours end, the country filter costs $3 one time, charged to that card, unless you cancel before then in Settings (if you cancel, you can still pick a country until the day ends). It's not a subscription, and it stays unlocked on that device and browser. It doesn't carry over to other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser data removes it. There's one free day per device, home network and card. Payment goes through Stripe, so Omlet never sees your card number.
The filter works both ways, and matching can be slower when fewer people from Albania are online. Chatting itself is free, and Worldwide matching never costs anything.
Your own country is detected automatically and shown to the people you meet as a flag.
