Video Chat with People from Georgia
Georgia, the country in the Caucasus, has a capital, Tbilisi, full of carved wooden balconies and domed sulfur bathhouses, and a Black Sea coast centered on Batumi. Other people you meet may be in Kutaisi, in the wine region of Kakheti, or in mountain areas like Svaneti and Kazbegi. People speak Georgian, which uses a curly, rounded script unlike any other. Many older adults also speak Russian, while younger people are increasingly at home in English.
Tbilisi doesn't change its clocks (UTC+4), so in winter a 9 PM chat there is 5 PM in London and noon in New York. Food and wine are favorite subjects: khachapuri bubbling with cheese and egg, khinkali dumplings you hold by the twisted top, churchkhela, and wine fermented in clay vessels called qvevri. At a traditional supra feast, a toastmaster called the tamada keeps the toasts coming. Polyphonic singing, rugby and wrestling are also sources of pride. To chat only with people in Georgia, choose it in the country filter; our Armenia page covers the neighbor to the south, on the same clock.

Tips for chatting with people from Georgia
- Greet with "gamarjoba"; if you hear "gagimarjos" back, you've just completed a classic Georgian exchange.
- Ask about their favorite regional khachapuri. Adjarian, Imeretian and Megrelian versions differ, and people have firm opinions.
- Start in English or with a Georgian greeting, and switch to Russian only if the other person suggests it.
- Ask someone to write your first name in Georgian script and hold it up to the camera; it's a fun icebreaker.
Only meet people from Georgia
Omlet matches you Worldwide by default. To meet only people from Georgia, use the country filter, the only filter Omlet has:
- Open Omlet and press Country on the control panel.
- Search for Georgia and select it.
- Press Start. Press Next to meet someone else from Georgia, or switch back to Worldwide any time.
Your first day is free: you add a card through Stripe to start it, and nothing is charged that day. When the 24 hours end, the country filter costs $3 one time, charged to that card, unless you cancel before then in Settings (if you cancel, you can still pick a country until the day ends). It's not a subscription, and it stays unlocked on that device and browser. It doesn't carry over to other devices or browsers, and clearing your browser data removes it. There's one free day per device, home network and card. Payment goes through Stripe, so Omlet never sees your card number.
The filter works both ways, and matching can be slower when fewer people from Georgia are online. Chatting itself is free, and Worldwide matching never costs anything.
Your own country is detected automatically and shown to the people you meet as a flag.
